Early Life and Education
Paul D. McCleery was born on December 14, 1985, in Lawrence, Kansas, to Michael and Darlene McCleery. Raised in Eudora, Kansas, alongside his two younger sisters, Mary Nobal and Evelyn McCleery, Paul developed a passion for media during his time at Lawrence Free Methodist Church. He graduated from Eudora High School in May 2005 and soon after joined the U.S. Army in October 2005.
 
Paul furthered his education at several esteemed institutions, including College America, where he was recognized with multiple awards such as the Society of Excellence Award and Dean’s List Award in 2011. His academic pursuits continued at Colorado State University for Business, the University of Phoenix for Hotel and Restaurant Management, Purdue University for Pre-Law, and Full Sail University for Live Music Production.
 
Military Career and Achievements
Paul's distinguished military career began right after high school when he joined the U.S. Army. He served two significant deployments—first to Iraq in September 2006 with the 2nd Infantry Division, 2nd Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, and then to Afghanistan in May 2010 with the 4th Infantry Division, 2nd Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment. His exemplary service earned him numerous accolades, including:

 

  • The Army Achievement Medal for combat tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom (Feb 1, 2017) and Afghanistan (Oct 22, 2009)

  • The Army Commendation Medal for support in Operations in Iraq (Jan 28, 2017) and Afghanistan (June 1, 2010)

  • The NATO Medal for services in ISAF Operations (June 1, 2010)

  • The Combat Action Badge from Operations in Afghanistan (Aug 20, 2009)

In December 2023, Paul embarked on research to open a bar, culminating in a completed business plan by August 2024, as he sought funding for his venture. His entrepreneurial spirit is complemented by his love for skiing, dancing, music, entrepreneurship, venture support, fishing, boating, camping, and spending quality time with family.
